
Video Tutorial: Single Crochet Spike Stitch - Pattern Stitch

Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
CH - Chain
ST - Stitch
Spike Stitch - For this pattern, this stitch is worked two rows below, between the double crochet. There will be two double crochet between each spike. Insert the hook between, pull loop up, insert hook in the previous DC, wrap yarn over and pull through the stitch. There will be 3 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over and pull through all 3 loops to complete the spike.
Materials
4 ply yarn
Size I/5.5mm crochet hook
Multiple: 2
Chain 26
Row 1: Work 23 DC across in each chain.
Row 2: CH 3 turn, DC in ea DC across.
Row 3: CH 1, SC in same ST. Work Spike Stitch in the next.
Row 4-5: CH 3 turn, DC in ea DC across.
Repeat rows 3-5 for the remainder of the pattern.
Estimate for baby afghan: Chain 126
Estimate for full size afghan: Chain 250

I am definitely going to start a baby afghan in this stitch. Its lovely.
I really like this stitch.
Usually I do not like the long stitches.
