Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch
ST - Stitch

Materials
Size I/5.5mm crochet hook
Yarn/Cotton of your choice
Yarn Marker - A scrap tail will work great as a yarn marker

I will not be using a chain 1 at the beginning of each round. This is to reduce the visibility of the seam. The top can be worked in a continual round if you choose to do so.

CH 3 Join.

Round 1: Work 9 SC through the chain.

Round 2: Work 1 SC in same ST, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 2 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in next ST.

Round 3: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 2 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 4 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 2 St's.

Round 4: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 3 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 6 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 3 St's.

Round 5: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 4 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 8 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 4 St's.

Round 6: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 5 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 10 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 5 St's.

Round 7: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 6 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 12 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 6 St's.

Round 8: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 7 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 14 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 7 St's.

Round 9: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 8 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 16 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 8 St's.

Round 10: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 9 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 18 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 9 St's.

Round 11: Work 1 SC in EA of the next 10 St's, *3 SC in next ST. 1 SC in ea of next 20 ST's. Repeat from * 2 times total. 3 SC in next ST. Work 1 SC in EA of the next 10 St's.

Maritza,
The pattern is a one size fits all since the triangle shape can be smaller or larger. When using a tie string around the back and top, they can be made larger or smaller. I did not make it with a specific size in mind.

I do not have the answer for how well it will hold up in water. I did research and had several women write telling me that they have gone swimming with crochet bikinis. It will also depend on your yarn choice. Some yarn is not recommended to be washed. Cotton yarn may be one of the better choices.
