DC = Double Crochet
SL ST = Slip Stitch
CH = Chain

CH 4, join.
Round 1: Ch 3, 2 DC in the loop,* CH 2, 3 DC in the chain loop, complete 3 times total from*, CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3. This will put you at the center of your chain space.
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 DC in the same CH SP, *CH 1, 3 DC, CH 2, 3DC in next CH SP, Complete 3 times total from *. CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3 to join.
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 DC in the same CH SP, *CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3DC in next CH SP, Complete 3 times total from *. CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3 to join.
Round 4: Ch 3, 2 DC in the same CH SP, *CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3DC in next CH SP, Complete 3 times total from *. CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3 to join.
Round 5: Ch 3, 2 DC in the same CH SP, *CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3 DC in next CH SP, CH 1, 3DC in next CH SP, Complete 3 times total from *. CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3 to join.
can you keep going on these and make it into one continuous blanket? or is better to make lots of squares to stitch together?

ReplyDeleteI was looking at a blanket my aunt made a long time ago and my mom told me it was made from granny squares. I'd never crocheted before (I do knit and finger knit though), but I decided that I wanted to learn how to crochet granny squares. Many restarts and an hour and a half later - with the help of your youtube video - I've completed my very first granny square! Thank you SO much!!!

ReplyDeleteJust wondering if your instructions should be the same as your YouTube video on how to crochet a traditional granny square? In the video you say to ch3; the instructions on here say to ch4.
